Environmental

Environmental graphic design is an important component in developing the visual character of a town, city, or region, and to provide direction for those unfamiliar with their surroundings. From welcome signs to gateways and other visual landmarks, and including coherent, comprehensible wayfinding systems, these visual markers help to unify and define a town, a park, or a trail system, and serve to orient and direct people in the built and natural environments. Below you will find visual excerpts from several projects I have completed in the last several years.

  • Business park gateway sign variants, designed for the Village of Deforest, WI.

  • Gateway signs, placemaking banners, and a unified wayfinding system, designed for the Village of Weston, WI.

  • Highlights of a multi-year wayfinding and mapping program for the City of Steamboat Springs, CO, including ski resort map, mountain biking trails map, kiosk information, and directional signage.

  • Stills from a six square block 3D model, developed in Sketchup, of the commercial district and surrounding neighborhood, created for the Village of Maple Bluff, WI.
